| When this ministry first started the mission was to reach out to our Christian community in an effort to build unity as well as a closer relationship with Christ. Over the past few years we have replaced the words "Christian community" with "all people." We feel that obedience to Christ must take priority in everything we do and therefore, our work is seeded in the Great Commission (Matt. 28:16-20). Currently, most of the board members are from Green Mountain Community Alliance Church, Tim O'Rourke is from Words of Life Ministries. We do encourage anyone who may feel they are called to join this ministry to please contact us. In order to have unity, we must be willing to work together therefore, the door is always open. The board members at this time are: Brenda Carey, Pauline Danyew, Mrilyn Reynolds, Steve Pratt, Susi and Billy Richardson. |

| Ministry History: This ministry's first anticipation was to bring Christians together in an effort to build unity. How would this be accomplished? By God's blessing, the leading of the Holy Spirit and with the help of praise and worship groups, testimonies, and messages shared in a concert environment. Over the past several years we have come to realize that our mission is not just to build unity between our Christian communities, but to unify and strengthen the body of Christ and to share Him with all people. What confirmed this ministry was how God revealed Himself at the first Godstock. I can remember talking to Pastor Rinehart about putting on a concert to help raise money for the new church. He was going on vacation and thought it was a good idea, so he gave the go ahead and said he would contact me from the road. He added, "What if it rains?" I politely said, "It isn't going to rain." Well lo and behold the week of Godstock it rained every day. A road had to be built so there could be an access to a field that would be used for parking and the field needed mowing as well. Even though the odds were against us, we did not give up. We took adantage of every opportunity to get the work done. On Friday, the day before the concert, we had scheduled to setup the grounds with tents and covering for the people, staging for the PA system and a stage with a canopy for the musicians. All glory to God! As we were setting up on Friday, it was raining all around us, in Stowe, Waterbury, Montpelier and Waitsfield, but the sun was shining on the location of Godstock. Godstock was ready, the groundwork was done and everything was in place. That night it rained yet again and the wind knocked down some of the canopy covering the band equipment. Praise God the band equipment should have been wet but wasn't; there was no damage. The next morning as the day opened its eyes, the sun came out and dried up the ground, which brought a beautiful day perfect for the gathering. After it was all over it was obvious for all who worked the event that God blessed that day in a way that will never be forgotten. I am convicted that God put this event together because he wants you and I, all of us, to work togther to be a shining light for all to see. This year the 4th Godstock took place in downtown Waterbury at the Rusty Parker Memorial Park. Bringing Godstock right to the center of Town is what we believe God had been telling us to do from the start. To praise Him in the open and to share His love with all people was a wonderful blessing not just for U.O.R., but for so many people as well. Godstock is a totally free event, sponsored by Green Mountain Community Alliance Church. I would like to ask you to please pray for this ministry and to also pray that the town of Waterbury will continue to allow us the opportunity to use the park. May God bless you and keep you safe always, U.O.R.M. |

Testimonials: God starts a friendship at Godstock that leads to a miracle, by Richard Danyew. As Jonnie and I prepared the grounds for Godstock 2003, a friendship began. Later that summer Jonnie invited my family for a day of fishing, swimming, and fun with his boat on Lake Champlain. As the group headed for the sandbar to swim, the wind came up and it was too rough to anchor safely. Jonnie turned the boat and headed to a calm cove so that we could go swimming. In the whitecaps, quite a distance away in the middle of the lake, I saw something. Trusting me, Jonnie headed out toward the spot. We came upon a woman who was badly injured, treading water and calling for help. She had fallen off her pontoon boat and had been hit with the propeller. We lifted her on board and others on the boat administered first aide. The woman told us that her companion was also in the water. We found him and brought him on board as well. We called 911 from the boat and headed to shore. When we got there, the EMT's took over. Once the two injured people were in the ambulance, we all turned to each other and the realization hit us. God just used us in a miracle! He used us to save two lives. We praise and thank Him for His timing and for friendships that were started at Godstock. Testimony: Heidi B, Warren Vermont My first Christian concert ever was at Godstock 2003. It was such a testimony to our Lord's love for me that my heart soared! The music proclaimed His loving kindness. The outdoor setting, breathtaking. Happy faces with laughing children whose eyes were alit with His grace. My family and I eagerly await next year's performances. Alleluiah! Testimony: John, Vermont For me, the Godstock festival was a moment to discover that there is a larger community of Christians in Vermont and that this community of believers is made up of folks that are both young and old alike. I found myself realizing that my church is not the only island. There are many more people out there that "Praise the Lord" with all their heart than I had thought. |
